Habitat for Humanity of Johnson County is excited to champion the Attainable Homeownership Tax Credit – an incredible opportunity for donors to make a lasting impact while receiving 50% of their gift back in state tax credits. This powerful tool allows you to give generously and invest directly in families in Johnson County working toward safe, stable, and affordable homeownership.
How it works Donate to Habitat’s state office and receive a 50% tax credit – up to $10,000 in credits. For example, donate $2,000 and receive $1,000 back when you file your taxes. Unlike a deduction, this is a dollar-for-dollar credit – making it one of the most impactful ways to give. Donations of $1,000 to $20,000 will qualify and unused credits may carry over up to five years. Cash, checks, credit cards, stocks, bonds, land/real estate, cryptocurrency, and larger in-kind gifts of building materials are eligible for the program.
